What is smart zoning?

Smart Zoning is the perfect companion for your new Ducted Reverse Cycle Air-Conditioner!

Smart Zoning is exactly what its name states! It is a system that allows you to zone your home and utilise smart technology to control the zoning features. Smart Zoning harnesses the thermal energy in your home and allows you to balance the airflow that is transmitted to each outlet; this means that you can stop heating and cooling unused areas, ultimately decreasing your running costs and energy consumption, sounds great right?

By incorporating a Smart Zoning system into your home, it provides temperature control and an on/off operation in each area. Ultimately, this means that you can be enjoying a comfortable 20-degree temperature in your lounge room on a hot summer’s day, whilst the spare room that you never use has the door closed and the zone off, ensuring there is zero wasted airflow in your home!

Smart Zoning also helps to reduce external thermal impacts within your home. This is a great feature for as that hot room on the western side of your house will continue calling for cool air from your new system until it reaches the set desired temperature.

The Smart Zoning system also comes with a WIFI Operation. This means that you can adjust the temperature of your home and turn your zones on and off conveniently from your phone – either from the comfort of your couch or when you are out and about.

What are the benefits of smart zoning?

  • Temperature Control: Set different temperatures in every room with up to 16 zones!
  • Turn Any Room On or Off: Turn any room on or off at any time. Just keep in mind that approximately half your home needs to be on at all times!
  • Remote Access: Turn your entire system or individual zones on or off and change temperatures from any location via your smart phone.
  • Make a Smaller System Go Further: If there are limitations as to why you have to opt for a smaller system than preferred, such as unique structures within your home or an inability to upgrade your single-phase power to three-phase power, then a Smart Zoning system can help to ensure that you have enough airflow throughout your home and your system does not need to work any harder than required!

Can I add smart zoning to my existing system?

As majority of older systems cannot support the technology behind Smart Zoning, this unfortunately cannot be done easily, if at all. To achieve installing a Smart Zoning system on an older unit, we would have to make many modifications to your ducting that could not be entirely beneficial. If you are interested to see if this may be possible for you, give Climate Master a call today on 6228 1126 and we can let you know if this is possible for your system!
